Tips from Mark.pdf torque warning!

Hi fellow Striders,

please observe this important warning regarding the

16 Nm torque for front and rear wheel bolt at page 1 of “Tips from Mark.pdf”.

DO NOT USE 16 NM TORQUE AT WHEELS WITH MAGNET LOCK!!!

The document refers to older Strida versions without magnetic latch; the wheel bolts were bigger back then and the amount of 16 Nm is much too high for modern bikes. I’d recommend to tighten the new wheel bolts 375 and 379 very gentle by hand and not above 2 Nm, they won’t get loose because they have to be secured anyway with thread locking compound.

The magnet’s counterpart 336 should be able to spin free and to tilt a little bit, if it doesn’t is the rear wheel bolt overtightened and part 338 (magnet spacer) most likely damaged.

Btw, the current Strida manual doesn’t mention a correct torque for the wheel bolts…

Good tip!
And a picture of a 338 damaged element if you applied the 16NM torque  :
