Now it would not last many rides cause I weight more than the wood allow I guess.
It would bend under me and break easily. But to try out different “improvements” maybe?

No belt. Saves money for all the shoes you’ll wear out.
But he does give example of how to add a “Chain” and pedals in case that is ok with you. 
Yes we all prefer the belt but these maybe are hard to come buy?
