I took mine on the Piccadilly line in the rush hour last week and nobody took offence. Held flat and close against my front or squeezed into a corner by the door I suspect it took less space than a Brompton or other folder. The rucsack I was wearing was more of a problem!
I also took it in Tate Britain where the security guard was a bit huffy “we don’t normally take bikes in here sir…” but the cloakroom attendant was only too happy to accomodate it.
