Belt drive wheel on my mk.2

Hey! I’ve got a problem with the mk.2 I recently got.
The main belt drive wheel doesn’t have anything to prevent the belt falling off one side. It’s okay while pedalling but if I push the bike the belt falls off on the inside.
My mk.3 has a slight rim to prevent it happening. My copy Strida has tabs on the inside which also prevent it.

I’ve been thinking of trying to make my own tabs to attach to the inside of the drive wheel and perhaps superglue them on.
Any suggestions?

Hi Thomas,
that’s interesting; noticed for the first time that there are no inner rails on the old beltwheels
Well, I’d try to 3D print (partial) rails, maybe with two holes for additional screws.

I think it is not that complicated to create such parts, there are five dimensions required:

  1. (Outer) diameter of the existing rail
  2. Inner diameter of the beltwheel
  3. Height of the reinforcement
  4. Thickness of the reinforcement
  5. Amount of recessment between inner tooth edge and reinforment edge

If you could give me the data I’d try to make a drawing

Well I’ve glued tabs on the inside of the main belt wheel but not tried it yet.
