Hi Josh here from the UK, I purchased a strida 3 on eBay about 7 years ago - road it once and the back tyre popped off the plastic rear wheel. Took the tyre off and the rear wheel rim looks very warped, at the time I tried to find a replacement wheel with no success. I really should have sent it back straight away but I didn’t.
I’d rather repair it and enjoy it. Does anyone have a set of wheels for a strida 3 that are for sale? Preferably the optional extra metal wheels? I’m sure I’m clutching at straws here.
If I can’t get some wheels for it I’ll be selling it as parts as the rest of the bike looks in good shape
I’m sorry to say that, but I don’t think that it is nowadays possible to find such wheels. The last source I knew was a Korean shop and that was many years ago.
I feared as much, if I can’t find a rear wheel replacement do you think there is a market for it as spares and repairs? I’m not looking to make money on it just seems a shame to scrap it
Well…I believe there should be a market for these old bikes…but, as far as I remember, I’ve never heard of someone who made “one out of two”.
I guess it is mainly impatience, most people would like to finish such project “right now”, I mean that can’t work.
One would have to wait (while searching 2nd hand platforms regularly) until finding another complete bike (damaged and cheap), with some luck it should be possible to combine two bad ones.
Anyway, I’m really amazed that the old versions still appear again and again, I bet there must still exist several of these versions - many of them forgotten and collecting dust in a shed, cellar or attic…
